Eversource prices are moving higher

Newton Power Choice participants are protected

If you are paying more than one of the Newton Power Choice prices for the supply charge part of your Eversource bill, you could be paying less.

  • Beginning July 1, Eversource’s Basic Service electricity supply price for residential customers will reach a new high of 17.871 ¢/kWh. This price will remain in place until December 31, 2022.
  • Private electricity supply contract prices may soar even higher.

Newton Power Choice offers three price options. All three are lower than Eversource’s price through December 31.

Eversource’s Basic Service

Newton Power Choice

17.871 ¢/kWh

VS 13.452 ¢/kWh – Standard

14.357 ¢/kWh – 100% Green

10.646 ¢/kWh – Basic

In addition to offering lower prices than Eversource through the end of the year, all three Newton options offer long-term price stability. While Eversource’s residential prices change every 6 months, Newton Power Choice prices will not change until January 2024.

Please note: Eversource’s prices will change in the future, and those future prices are not known. As a result, we cannot guarantee that Newton Power Choice will always be less expensive in the future.

How do I know if I'm already enrolled?

Look at your bill to determine if you are enrolled.

  • The first page of your Eversource bill will show that your electricity supplier is Direct Energy Newton PowerChoice.
  • The second page of your Eversource bill will show that a Newton price is being used to calculate the Supply charge portion of your bill.
