The power of our community

Pepperell Community Electricity is a group electricity buying program for Pepperell residents and businesses. Using the purchasing power of our community, the program provides:

  • Three new electricity choices
  • Fixed pricing until November 2026
  • Consumer protections

Pepperell Community Electricity will launch in October 2024. Nearly 200 other Massachusetts communities have similar programs.

You are invited to attend one of two public information sessions about the program on August 27:

  • 12:30 PM at 47 Nashua Road, Albert Harris Center
  • 6:00 PM at 1 Main Street, Town Hall, Conference Room A, in person or virtually at https://meet.goto.com/189994581. You may also dial in to the virtual meeting using your phone at +1 (872) 240-3212, access code 189-994-581.

Check back for the official announcement from the Town of Pepperell.

Program benefits

Three consumer-friendly options

Pepperell Community Electricity offers three options for the Electricity Supply part of your National Grid bill. As a new participant, you will be automatically enrolled in Pepperell Basic, which is the least-expensive option in the program. Pepperell Greener and Pepperell 100% Green provide more of your electricity from clean, renewable sources and are available by request. Make the choice that is right for you!

No interruption in service

Through Pepperell Community Electricity, the Town has selected First Point Power as our electricity supplier (the company that puts electricity on the grid for us) and locked in long-term pricing for the Electricity Supply charge on our bills. But National Grid remains Pepperell’s electric utility and continues to handle our billing, address power outages, and deliver our electricity with no interruption.

Make sure you’re enrolled

If you are enrolled, Pepperell Community Electricity will be integrated into your existing National Grid electric bill. Your supplier will appear as First Point Power – Pepperell Community Elec. But you will not see any additional charges on your bill or receive any additional electric bills because of participating in the program.

Savings cannot be guaranteed

Please note that, while two of the Pepperell Community Electricity prices are currently lower than National Grid’s residential Basic Service price, there is no guarantee of future savings. This is because National Grid’s prices change and future prices are unknown.

Protect your National Grid account number

National Grid will never knock on your door or call you to talk about your electric bill.
Only provide your National Grid account number if you are ready to change your electricity supplier.
