Options & Pricing

Swampscott Community Power offers three alternatives to National Grid’s Basic Service. The default program offering is Standard Green, which includes 100% renewable electricity primarily from renewable energy projects outside of New England. As a new participant in Swampscott Community Power, you will be enrolled in Standard Green unless you choose one of the other options.

Electricity supplier: Swampscott’s electricity supplier is NextEra Energy Srvcs MA-Swampscott Comm Pwr. See an example National Grid electricity bill.

Electricity mix: The Commonwealth of Massachusetts requires that all electricity supply products include a minimum of 49% from renewable energy resources in 2021, 51% in 2022, 59% in 2023, and 62% in 2024. Basic meets this minimum requirement. Standard Green and New England Green exceed this requirement. The program’s electricity supplier is required to provide an energy mix disclosure label that offers details about all of the sources of electricity provided. Visit the Resources page to download the most recent label.

Please note:

Prices for Standard Green, New England Green, and Basic include a $0.001/kWh administration fee. Program prices could increase as a result of a change in law that results in a direct, material increase in costs during the term of the electricity supply agreement. Program prices apply only to the electricity supply portion of your National Grid electricity bill. Delivery charges on your National Grid electricity bill are not affected by the Swampscott Community Power program.

Some large commercial accounts may not be eligible for program pricing at the time of enrollment and may instead be offered market pricing. Visit the FAQ page for more information.
