More electricity from renewable sources for less than Eversource

Framingham Community Electricity automatically provides 35% of your electricity from new renewable sources right here in New England compared to 30% from Eversource in 2026. And Framingham’s price is lower than Eversource’s prices that are in effect from February 1 – July 31, 2026 (though future savings can’t be guaranteed). To help stimulate the development of more clean electricity on our local grid, Framingham prioritizes buying from renewable energy sources in our region.

 

Three electricity supply choices 

Framingham Community Electricity provides three choices for the electricity supply part of your bill. You can automatically receive 35% of your electricity from new renewable sources in the New England region, or you can choose to receive 100% of your electricity from new renewable sources or just the minimum required by law.

 

Stable and consistent pricing 

Framingham Community Electricity offers long-term prices for the electricity supply part of your bill that are fixed until March 2027. In comparison, Eversource’s prices change seasonally, every 6 months or less. Participating in Framingham Community Electricity will make your electricity supply price predictable and stable and will protect you from seasonal spikes.

 

Consumer protections

Framingham Community Electricity has been designed with consumer protections. Chief among them, the program has no hidden fees, and you have the freedom to opt out of, or leave, the program at any time with no penalty. This feature makes the program different from many private electricity supply contracts, which may include minimum participation periods and early-termination fees.
