Stable electricity prices

Bellingham Power Choice offers long-term prices for the electricity supply part of your bill. The current prices will end in December, and the program will move to a new, 12-month contract with prices that are fixed until December 2026. In comparison, National Grid’s and Eversource’s prices change every 6 months or less, which exposes you to seasonal spikes in electricity prices. Participating in Bellingham Power Choice will make your electricity supply price predictable and stable and will protect you from those seasonal price spikes.

 

Two electricity supply choices

Through Bellingham Power Choice, you have two choices for the electricity supply part of your bill. You can automatically receive just the minimum amount of your electricity from renewable sources required by law, or you can choose to receive 100% of your electricity from renewable sources.

 

Potential for savings

Through Bellingham Power Choice, your electricity supply price may be lower than your utility’s Basic Service price. According to a report by UMass Amherst, the majority of communities with aggregation programs do see some savings compared with their utility’s Basic Service price. However, Bellingham Power Choice prices are long-term fixed prices, and utility prices change every 6 months or less. Consumer protections

Bellingham Power Choice has been designed with consumer protections. Chief among them, the program has no hidden fees, and you have the freedom to opt out of, or leave, the program at any time with no fee or penalty. This feature makes the program different from many private electricity supply contracts, which may include minimum participation periods and early-termination fees.
