Options & Prices

All new electricity customers in Watertown are automatically enrolled in Standard and receive an additional 30% of their electricity from renewable energy projects, in addition to the minimum amount required by state law. The program also offers two other options, which are available by request:

  • For 100% renewable electricity, you may opt up to the 100% Green option.
  • For only the minimum amount of renewable electricity required by state law, you may opt down to the Basic option. (This is the Basic offering within Watertown Electricity Choice. It is different from Eversource’s Basic Service.)

If you participate in Watertown Electricity Choice, NextEra Energy Services will be listed on your Eversource electricity bill as your electricity supplier. See an example Eversource bill.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts requires that all electricity supply products include a minimum of 59.2% from renewable energy resources in 2023. Watertown Basic meets the minimum requirement. Watertown Standard and Watertown 100% Green exceed this requirement. Visit the Resources page to download the most recent electricity generation disclosure label.

* Prices for all options in the Watertown Electricity Choice program include a $0.001/kWh administration fee. Program prices could increase as a result of a change in law that results in a direct, material increase in costs during the term of the electricity supply agreement. Program prices apply only to the electricity supply portion of your Eversource electric bill. Delivery charges on your Eversource electric bill are not affected by the Watertown Electricity Choice program.

** Some large commercial accounts may not be eligible for program pricing at the time of enrollment and may instead be offered market pricing. Visit the FAQ page for more information.
