| Important program news: In January 2026, Newton Power Choice will change from offering three options to offering a single option with one, lower price for all participants. As part of that change, Newton Power Choice will no longer include additional electricity from renewable sources above the minimum required by state law.
No action is necessary for active Newton Power Choice participants. If you are currently enrolled in any Newton Power Choice option, you will automatically receive the new, lower price in January, and you will see it on your February 2026 Eversource electric bill. Check back soon for the City’s communication about the change. |
Newton Power Choice offers a stable, competitive price for the supply portion of your Eversource electric bill with the potential for savings compared with Eversource, though savings cannot be guaranteed.
If you are eligible for a low-income discount or fuel assistance, you continue to receive that benefit as a participant in Newton Power Choice. If you have Eversource’s Budget Billing, it continues to apply to your whole bill.
