Electricity mix: The Commonwealth of Massachusetts requires that all electricity supply products include a minimum of 59.2% from renewable energy resources in 2023, including 22% from “premium” renewable energy projects in the New England region (MA Class I RECs). Sharon Power Choice Basic meets this minimum requirement. Sharon Power Choice Standard and Green exceed this requirement. The program’s electricity supplier is required to provide an energy mix disclosure label that offers details about all of the sources of electricity provided. Visit the Resources page to download the most recent label.

* Program prices include a $0.001/kWh administrative fee and a $0.001/kWh operational fee to support Town energy staff. Program prices could increase as a result of a change in law that results in a direct, material increase in costs during the term of the electricity supply agreement.
** Sharon Power Choice Green includes the minimum amount of MA Class I RECs required by law each year plus the additional amount needed to reach 100%. Sharon’s electricity supplier must also purchase other renewable energy to meet state requirements. As a result, the total of the renewable amounts for Sharon Power Choice Green exceeds 100%.
