Wayland Electricity Choice is a group electricity purchasing program from the Town of Wayland for Wayland residents and businesses. The program impacts the Supply charge on your Eversource electric bill.

Using the buying power of our community, Wayland Electricity Choice provides:

  • More renewable energy in your electricity supply
  • Stable electricity supply prices
  • Consumer protections without high pressure or fees

The program is a Town alternative to Eversource’s Basic Service and to other electricity offers in the marketplace.

Wayland Electricity Choice offers three choices so you can choose the option that is right for you.

New participants will be automatically enrolled in Wayland Standard Green. Wayland 100% Green and Wayland Economy are available by request.

Participate

 New electricity accounts in Wayland will be eligible for automatic enrollment in Wayland Electricity Choice. Automatic enrollment occurs on a periodic basis and only after you receive a notice in the mail from the Town. You may also choose to enroll online or with a phone call. Learn more about enrolling.  Use the online calculator to compare Wayland Electricity Choice prices with the most recent 12-month average of Eversource’s Basic Service prices and see the cost and greenhouse gas emissions impact of participating.

How it works

 Wayland Electricity Choice is a group electricity purchasing program. Participating in Wayland Electricity Choice will change your electricity supplier and the price Eversource uses to calculate the Supply charge on your electric bill, but participating will not replace Eversource as your electric utility. Make sure you’re enrolled

If you are enrolled, Wayland Electricity Choice will be integrated into your existing Eversource electric bill. Your supplier will appear as WaylandElectricityChoice-FirstPoint.

Savings cannot be guaranteed

Please note that, while Wayland Electricity Choice offers the potential for savings when compared with Eversource’s Basic Service price, there is no guarantee of savings. This is because Eversource’s fixed Basic Service prices change every 6 months for residential and small business customers and every 3 months for large business customers and future Eversource prices are not known.
