* The renewable energy added by the Town of Lincoln in the three program options is from new resources in the New England region (MA Class I RECs), which are renewable energy projects built in 1998 or later and which are primarily wind and solar energy projects but can be other types of technologies. Lincoln’s contract specifically excludes facilities that burn biomass.
** These other resources include waste-to-energy, nuclear, and large hydro projects, among others.
