Program prices

Maynard Power Choice offers three options. As a new participant, you will be automatically enrolled in Maynard Standard, which provides an additional 5% of your electricity from renewable sources.

The Maynard 100% Green option is available by request and provides 100% of your electricity from renewable sources.
The Maynard Basic option is also available by request and provides the lowest price in the program.

All Maynard Power Choice prices are fixed from September 2025 – November 2027.

As a participant in Maynard Power Choice, your electricity supplier will be Direct Energy.

What happens in November 2027?

The Town intends to sign a new, long-term contract when the contract with Direct Energy expires. The Town will announce the new prices before they take effect, and your account will be automatically enrolled into the new price for your program option unless you opt out or choose a different option.

Please note: Some large business accounts may not be eligible for program pricing at the time of enrollment and may instead be offered market pricing.

Compare to Eversource

Maynard Power Choice offers long-term prices, but Eversource’s prices change seasonally. It is normal for Maynard’s prices to be lower than Eversource sometimes and higher at other times. The goal of Maynard Power Choice is to provide savings when compared with the average of Eversource’s changing prices.
