Sherborn Power Choice is a group electricity purchasing program from the Town of Sherborn for Sherborn residents and businesses. The program impacts the Supply charge on your Eversource electric bill.

Using the buying power of our community, Sherborn Power Choice provides:

  • More renewable energy in your electricity supply
  • Stable electricity supply prices
  • Consumer protections without high pressure or fees

The program is a Town alternative to Eversource’s Basic Service and to other electricity offers in the marketplace.

Sherborn received state regulatory approval for the program in December 2023, and the program launched in June 2024.

Three consumer-friendly options

Sherborn Power Choice offers three electricity choices so you can select the option that is right for you.

New participants will be automatically enrolled in Sherborn Standard. Sherborn Select and Sherborn Basic are available by request.

Participate

 New electricity accounts in Sherborn will be eligible for automatic enrollment in Sherborn Power Choice. Automatic enrollment occurs on a periodic basis and only after you receive a notice in the mail from the Town. You may also choose to enroll online or with a phone call. Learn more.

 Compare program prices to Eversource’s current Basic Service prices, or use the online calculator to compare Sherborn Power Choice prices with the most recent 12-month average of Eversource’s Basic Service prices and see the cost and greenhouse gas emissions impact of participating.

How it works

 Sherborn Power Choice is a group electricity purchasing program. Participating in Sherborn Power Choice will change your electricity supplier and the price Eversource uses to calculate the Supply charge on your electric bill, but participating will not replace Eversource as your electric utility. Make sure you’re enrolled

Sherborn Power Choice is integrated into your existing Eversource electric bill. Your supplier will appear as Sherborn Power Choice-Gridwealth.

Savings cannot be guaranteed

Please note that, while Sherborn Power Choice will offer the potential for savings when compared with Eversource’s Basic Service price, there is no guarantee of savings. This is because Eversource’s fixed Basic Service prices change every 6 months for residential and small business customers and every 3 months for large business customers and future Eversource prices are not known.

Protect your Eversource account number

Eversource will NEVER knock on your door or call you to talk about your electricity bill. If Eversource wishes to discuss your bill, they will do so in writing. Also, all communication about Sherborn Power Choice will be in writing and will bear the Town seal. Only provide your Eversource account number if you are ready to change your electricity supplier.
