Program prices

Important program news:

Sherborn Power Choice prices will change in June as the current electricity supply contract ends and a new, 30-month contract goes into effect.

Electricity prices have increased since the current prices were secured in 2024, so the new prices will be higher than current prices for most participants. However, Eversource’s prices have also increased, and the new Sherborn Power Choice prices will be lower than Eversource’s current residential and small business electricity supply prices, which are in effect through July 31 (savings beyond that date cannot be guaranteed).

No action is needed for current Sherborn Power Choice participants. The new prices will take effect in June and will first appear on July Eversource electric bills.

Sherborn Power Choice offers three options. As a new program participant, you will be automatically enrolled in Sherborn Standard and will receive an additional 50% of your electricity from renewable sources. Two other options are available by request.

Please note: Some large business accounts may not be eligible for program pricing at the time of enrollment and may instead be offered market pricing.

If you participate:

  • Your electricity supplier will be Direct Energy. See how the program will appear on your Eversource bill.
  • If you are eligible for a low-income discount or fuel assistance, you continue to receive that benefit as a participant in Sherborn Power Choice.
  • If you have Eversource’s Budget Billing, it continues to apply to your total bill.
  • The Town intends to sign a new, long-term contract before December 2028, when the contract with Direct Energy expires. The Town will announce the new prices before they take effect. Your account will be automatically enrolled into the new price for your program option unless you opt out or choose a different option.
