Program prices

Nantucket PowerChoice offers two options. Participation in either option supports the Nantucket Local SOLAR Rebate Program and the development of new residential solar electricity projects on Nantucket.

As a new participant, you will be automatically enrolled in the PowerChoice option.
The PowerChoice Green option is available by request and provides 100% of your electricity from renewable sources.

As a participant in Nantucket PowerChoice, your electricity supplier will be First Point Power.

If you are eligible for a low-income discount or fuel assistance, you continue to receive that benefit as a participant in Nantucket PowerChoice. If you have National Grid’s Budget Billing, it continues to apply to your whole bill.

What happens in November 2026?

The Town intends to sign a new, long-term contract when the contract with First Point Power expires. The Town will announce the new prices before they take effect, and your account will be automatically enrolled into the new price for your program option unless you opt out or choose a different option.

Compare to National Grid

Nantucket PowerChoice offers long-term prices, but National Grid’s prices change seasonally. It is normal for Nantucket’s prices to be lower than National Grid sometimes and higher at other times. The goal of Nantucket PowerChoice is to provide savings when compared with the average of National Grid’s changing prices.
