Enrolling in Weston Power Choice

Electricity customers in Weston with Eversource’s Basic Service are eligible for automatic enrollment in Weston Power Choice in June, with the program launch. If your account is eligible for automatic enrollment, you will receive a notice in the mail from the Town, and NO ACTION IS REQUIRED.

New electricity customers in Weston will be eligible for AUTOMATIC ENROLLMENT in Weston Power Choice within a few months of opening their account. This automatic enrollment model is state law. Automatic enrollment for new accounts occurs on a periodic basis throughout the year.

If your account is eligible for automatic enrollment, you will receive a notice about the program by mail from the Town prior to being automatically enrolled. The notice will include information about the program, options in the program, and prices, as well as information on how to opt out of the program if you do not wish to participate. If you wish to be automatically enrolled, no action is required.

…are not currently enrolled, and you wish to participate

If you are a residential or small commercial customer, please submit your enrollment request online or contact customer support with Weston’s program consultants.

Medium and large commercial accounts may not be eligible for program pricing. If you are a medium or large commercial customer and you did not receive an enrollment notification in the mail from the Town, please contact customer support before submitting an enrollment request.

…have asked Eversource to place a block on your account to prevent enrollment with electricity suppliers

The block will prevent automatic enrollment, even if you receive the notification by mail. To participate in Weston Power Choice, you must first ask Eversource to remove the block. Once the block has been removed, you may then request enrollment in Weston Power Choice.

…have a private contract with an electricity supplier

Your account will not be automatically enrolled, and you will not receive a notice by mail. However, you may choose to enroll your account in Weston Power Choice by submitting your enrollment request online or by contacting customer support with Weston’s program consultants.

Please note: We recommend that you carefully check the terms and conditions of your supplier agreement. Your ability to terminate your agreement with your supplier may be restricted.  If you decide to enroll, be sure your current electricity supplier knows that you wish to cancel or not renew your contract with them.

…previously opted out and now wish to enroll

You may re-enroll, but please note that you may not receive the Weston Power Choice price. The electricity supplier may charge you a market price for the remainder of the current electricity supply contract. If the program’s electricity supplier decides to charge market pricing, you will be notified before enrollment and can decide then whether to continue with enrollment or not.

…are currently being served, or were previously served, by a competitive electricity supplier and now wish to enroll

If you are a residential or small commercial customer, you may enroll at the program price. Medium and large commercial accounts may not be eligible for program pricing at the time of enrollment and may instead be offered market pricing. If you are a medium or large commercial customer, please contact customer support for information before submitting an enrollment request.
