Enroll in the Green Worcester ElectriCITY Aggregation Program
Most new electricity accounts in Worcester will be eligible for AUTOMATIC enrollment in the Green Worcester ElectriCITY Aggregation Program within a few months of opening. This automatic enrollment model is state law.
You will receive a notification letter in the mail from the City about the program prior to being automatically enrolled. The letter will include the City Seal and program name and will offer information about the program, options in the program, and prices, as well as information about how to opt out of the program if you do not wish to participate.
If you…
…are not currently enrolled, and you wish to participate
Please submit your enrollment information online or call customer support with Worcester’s program consultants at 1-833-926-1207.
…have asked National Grid to place a block on your account to prevent enrollment with electricity suppliers
The block will prevent automatic enrollment, even if you receive the notification letter. To participate in the Green Worcester ElectriCITY Aggregation Program, you must first ask National Grid to remove the block. Once the block has been removed, you may then request enrollment in the Green Worcester ElectriCITY Aggregation Program.
…have a private contract with an electricity supplier
We recommend that you carefully check the terms and conditions of your supplier agreement. Your ability to terminate your agreement with your supplier may be restricted.
…previously opted out and now wish to enroll
You may re-enroll, but you are not guaranteed to receive the Green Worcester ElectriCITY Aggregation Program price. Worcester’s electricity supplier is entitled to charge you a market price for the remainder of the current electricity supply contract. If the program’s electricity supplier decides to charge market pricing, you will be notified before enrollment and can decide then whether to continue with enrollment or not.
…have a large commercial account
You are unlikely to receive the Green Worcester ElectriCITY Aggregation Program price. For most large commercial accounts, Worcester’s electricity supplier is entitled to charge a market price instead of the program price.
